Massachusetts Knights of Pythias Welcome to the Grand Lodge Knights of Pythias, Domain of Massachusetts.  The Knights of Pythias is the first fraternal organization to be granted a charter under a special act of the United States Congress in 1864. This year, along with lodges throughout North America, the Order is celebrating our 156th anniversary. The Massachusetts Grand Lodge was instituted in 1869.  The Knights of Pythias is a non-sectarian, fraternal organization, which does charitable work within our various communities.  Over the years, the Massachusetts Knights of Pythias has been responsible for the establishment of facilities, such as: Kiddie Kamp in Sharon, MA (later known as Horizons for Youth) a summer camp for underprivileged children; Handi Kids Camp, a facility set on over 20 acres in Bridgewater, MA, for disabled citizens; we have been instrumental in establishing and maintaining re-habilitation centers within the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton, MA and the Shaughnessy-Kaplan Hospital in Salem, MA; have been major supporters and contributors of over $2,000,000 to United Cerebral Palsy; plus assisting many other charities within the local community.  If you are 18 years of age or older, and would like further information on the Knights of Pythias, how to become a member, or if there is no lodge in your area – how to institute a new lodge, please contact our Grand Secretary at 781-341-2422; fax him a note at 781-341-0496; or send him an e-mail at
